Last week I had the opportunity to go to Yosemite National Park for the first time – what an absolutely amazing place!  The picture above of El Capitan, Half Dome and parts of the Yosemite Valley was taken from the Tunnel View overlook during my visit.  The Tunnel View scenic overlook is located just after exiting the Wawona tunnel on one of the main access roads into the park.  Visitors and photographers, including the likes of Ansel Adams, have been snapping photographs of Yosemite from this stunning viewpoint since the tunnel and viewpoint were opened in 1933.

It is truly breathtaking when you come out of the Wawona tunnel for the first time on your initial visit to the park, and the view above is your first hint of the park’s stunning scenery and vistas!
