C-47 Ground Crew Takes A Break

C-47 Skytrain with ground crew (reenactors)

This is the second of two of my photographs that are on display until January at the Museum of Flight in Seattle as part of the museum’s Spirit of Flight Photography Exhibition. The photo is of a C-47 Skytrain that is flown and displayed by the Arizona wing of the Commemorative Air Force, based in Mesa, Arizona.

The gentleman playing dice under the aircraft’s wing are World War II reenactors of the Arizona Ground Crew, who do a great job portraying the ground crews who supported US aircraft during the war. The members of the Ground Crew were a lot of fun and wonderful subjects to photograph with the historical aircraft on display at the Commemorative Air Force museum in Mesa.
