I’m excited to have three photographs selected as finalists for the 2021 Spirit of Flight juried photo exhibition at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA. This photo titled “Working at Night” is one of them and is a shot of a nighttime engine run of a de Havilland D.H.98 Mosquito, a British WWII fighter plane.
Photographing this Snowy Owl was one of my photography highlights of 2021. The owl was hanging out on a rooftop near downtown Seattle for several months this past winter. The photo was featured in the Seattle Times Reader’s Lens section in January 2021.

My story “Oak Creek Wildlife Area” has just been published in the December 2017 issue of Northwest Travel & Life magazine. The photo above was used with the story. I’ll add a link to the story if it becomes available online. (So far it’s only available in print copies of the magazine.)
Photo of Swallow-tailed Gull in December 2017 Birdwatching Magazine
This Swallow-tailed Gull was a long way from home when I photographed it on the waterfront in Edmonds, Washington, in early September. The bird was spotted in several places near Seattle for over a week. This was only the 3rd time one of these gulls that normally live on the Galapagos Islands has been seen in North America, and the first time in the state of Washington. Find another photo on my blog.
