Photo of Swallow-tailed Gull in December 2017 Birdwatching Magazine

This Swallow-tailed Gull was a long way from home when I photographed it on the waterfront in Edmonds, Washington, in early September. The bird was spotted in several places near Seattle for over a week. This was only the 3rd time one of these gulls that normally live on the Galapagos Islands has been seen in North America, and the first time in the state of Washington. Find another photo on my blog.
