American Robin in the Snow

I’m excited to have my photograph of an American Robin in the snow published in Nature Photographer magazine. The photo is available in the current Autumn/Winter 2020-2021 issue. Nature Photographer is a great magazine about bird, wildlife and landscape photography. The magazine features lots of photographs but also photography tips and tutorials and overviews of interesting nature photography locations to visit.

I took this photograph in my yard last winter while we were snowed in. A large flock of robins had found some tasty berries on our bushes and dropped in for a meal. I’m constantly amazed how much interesting wildlife, especially birds, live within a few minutes of my home. I didn’t have to go far to get this photo as the colorful robin was posing on our fence right outside the front door!

The page from the magazine with the photo is below.

Photo taken with a Nikon D500 camera and Nikon 300mm F4 PF lens with a 1.4x teleconverter.

  1. After finding out that a cute picture of a round a bird was AI slop, finding your beautiful photograph of this orb-like robin has brought joy and hope again into my heart. Bravo!
