Here are a couple more recent shots from the waterfront in Edmonds, Washington during the month of December.  The Killdeer above was busily scurrying about at the edge of the water looking for something to eat.  The Heermann’s Gull below seems to have a bit of a problem with his biological clock – according to my “Birds of the Puget Sound Region” book these gulls are only in the Puget Sound region through October.  I’m surprised this guy hasn’t yet headed for a warmer place to spend the winter!
