In September I was able to make my first trip to Yellowstone National Park, and was fascinated by all of the interesting and colorful thermal features – geysers, springs, pools, etc.  I had heard that Yellowstone was a really fantastic place, but it vastly exceeded my expectations.

One of the thermal features that I liked the most was Sapphire Pool in the Biscuit Basin, shown in the picture above.  I really like the way that the blue colors of the pool complement the deep blue colors of the overcast sky – what an unbelievable place!

Photograph taken with Nikon D7000 and Nikon AF-S DX 10-24mm lens, ISO 160, f8.0 @ 1/250 sec.
