A Brown Booby, a large seabird that does not live in the Pacific Northwest, escaped from the Woodland Park Zoo about two weeks ago.  Since then there have been a number of reports of the bird being spotted in areas around Seattle including Ballard and off of the Beach in Edmonds.  Here are some photos from last May that I shot of the Booby at the zoo before its jailbreak.
