A few weeks ago I came across this gull on the waterfront in Edmonds, WA attempting to eat a very large starfish.  The gull ran around for about 15 minutes as shown in the picture, with part of the starfish in its mouth/gullet and the rest of it sticking out looking kind of like a large purple moustache.  I had to leave before I was able to find out if the gull was ever able to actually eat the starfish.  Looks painful!
