This young Harbor Seal has been spending time on a dock at the Edmonds, Washington, marina since last December. On many days, the seal pulls itself out of the water and rests for several hours on the dock–always in the same place on the dock, and apparently oblivious to the many people that pass very close to it on the raised walkway to the marina’s fishing pier. Some days the seal even puts on a SeaWorld-like show, swimming and diving in the small area between the dock and the walkway.
I am continually amazed by the wide variety of animals in our world, and very glad to have the opportunity to photograph them!
