Marmots of Mount Rainier

Hoary Marmots are large rodents that live primarily in alpine areas, and are one of the more common animals you can spot on Mount Rainier. I took these marmot photographs in early October from the Skyline Trail above the Paradise visitor center. The marmots appeared to be busily preparing their burrow for the upcoming winter.

  1. Thanks! We were wondering what their name is as we spot them super calm posing for pictures with tourists from visitor center all the way up to paramount point.
