Ducks, Ducks, Ducks

One of my photography projects this winter has been photographing as many different types of ducks as I can find in the western part of Washington state. I didn’t realize how many different and interesting looking species of ducks there are in the area, around 25, until I started my project! Here are photos of a Green-winged Teal and a Bufflehead that I photographed recently at Pine Ridge Park in my hometown of Edmonds, Washington.

At some point I will create a gallery on the website with a good picture of each type of duck I have photographed. So far I have photographed 14 different types of ducks, and have 11 more to go. Unfortunately, the ones I haven’t photographed this year will likely have to wait until next year, since most of the ducks and other waterbirds that spend the winter in the area will be leaving soon for their summer breeding grounds.
