This post includes some photos taken this month in the area around the waterfront in Edmonds, Washington.  A couple of my personal favorite birds are the Surf Scoter (above) and the Bewick’s Wren (below).  The Surf Scoter is a diving duck with a unique look!  The Bewick’s Wren is an energetic little bird that jumps around in a frenzy from place to place, making it difficult to get good photographs of one.  I managed to snap a couple of shots of the one below as he jumped around on the trunk of a tree at the Edmonds Marsh.

The little Anna’s Hummingbird below was warming him or herself on a branch on one of the days recently when the temperature didn’t get out of the 20s.
