I love photographing owls – they have to be absolutely some of the most interesting and photogenic birds.  Great facial expressions.  I recently took this photo of a short-eared owl in the mid-afternoon near Stanwood, Washington.  He sat on the signpost for at least fifteen minutes and at one point looked to be having a stare down with me and several other photographers.
