Here are a few more photos of birds at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge from my trip in October. It was a real treat to see some very exotic birds that I don’t get to see in the Pacific Northwest where I do the majority of my bird photography, like the Anhinga in the photo above.
There were quite a few Brown Pelicans overhead during my day at the refuge. They are very big birds and several flew so close that it was hard to get the entire bird in the photo with my 300mm telephoto lens!
