Here are a few more Short-eared Owl photos taken last week on Leque Island near Stanwood, Washington.  The lower photo is of an owl that was resting in a tree for about half an hour.  Then the owl flew down from the tree and landed on a nearby sign post where he sat for a few minutes before swooping down off of the post in hot pursuit of some prey (upper photo).
