I spotted this little guy a couple of weeks ago at the Edmonds Marsh.  Although he is taking a rest in this photo, he was making pretty quick work of a number of the branches in the tree that I photographed him in.  I have had the opportunity to photograph a number of Downy Woodpeckers and Pileated Woodpeckers over the last few weeks as they make their spring appearance – it is definitely fun to watch, listen to and photograph them!
