Hoary Marmots are large rodents that live primarily in alpine areas, and are one of the more common animals you can spot on Mount Rainier. I took these marmot photographs in early October from the Skyline Trail above the Paradise visitor center. The marmots appeared to be busily preparing their burrow for the upcoming winter.
