I photographed this bull elk last September in the early evening on the Madison River in Yellowstone National Park.  The elk and three female elk crossed the park road in front of our car and then headed down to the river.  By stopping at a pullout on the river side of the road we were able to photography the group of elk for several minutes before they crossed the river.
